Why Clark Gas & Oil?
- We're locally owned and operated serving the community since 1928. This community minded family business is now operating with its third generation.
- We're big enough to handle your needs but small enough to care.
- You'll enjoy talking to a person, not a machine, during business hours. Our friendly service is handled by your neighbors and friends.
- Customer service is not a department at Clark Gas & Oil ~ it's every employee's responsibility.
- We're dedicated to safety ~ it's our commitment in everything we do, whether at the end of the day or the end of a challenging week ~ we all want to sleep well at night!
- We have a complete service department specializing in heating and hearth products.
- We guarantee our installations for a full year from any workmanship on material defects.
- We warranty our service repairs for 30 days.
- We run regular computer assisted scheduled deliveries. Clark tracks degree days for heating accounts and Julian routing for non-heating usage such as restaurants, laundromats and generators.
-
We are committed to continuous training! All of our employees, not just the installation/service technicians and delivery drivers, receive on-going training. Our employees complete the National Propane Gas Association CETP (Certified Employee Training Program). We're proud to have numerous employees that are NFI (National Fireplace Institute) certified.
Every year during slower times in the summer season, Clark Gas & Oil invests over $6,000 in our staff to learn more about the latest industry developments, trends, and better ways to serve our customers.

Degree Days
To calculate the heating degree days for a particular day, find the day's average temperature by adding the day's high and low temperature and dividing by two. If the number is above 65, there are no heating degree days that day. If the number is less than 65, subtract it from 65 to find the number of heating degree days.
For example, if the day's high temperature is 60 and the low is 40, the average temperature is 50 degrees. 65 minus 50 is 15 heating degree days.
After finding the number of heating degree days for the current day, add that figure to the accumulative degree day found on the NOAA website. |
