Is oil heat clean?
Yes, oil heat is clean to burn. According to Cleanburn Science Technology, oil heat systems are 99.9% clean. When oil heat is properly installed and maintained, no observable soot, dirt, or odors are evident in the home.
Is oil heat economical?
Yes, today's furnaces are more efficient than ever before. Oil prices have been more stable and competitive over the years than other forms of energy. It has 140,000 BTUs per gallon while propane has 91,000 BTUs per gallon.
Is oil heat safe?
Unlike gaseous fuels, heating oil will not support a flame unless the temperature is above 140 degrees fahrenheit. There is not enough fuel vapor to cause an explosion.
What is the easiest way to make sure I do not run out of fuel?
The easiest way to make sure you do not run out of fuel is to be on our Automatic Delivery Program meaning we will automatically deliver to you during the heating season as well as during summer fill-up.
Should I have my furnace cleaned?
Yes, it is a good idea to have your furance checked and cleaned regularly, about once a year, by a qualified repair person.
Do I need heating oil or kerosene?
If you have a gun type furnace and adjust the temperature by a wall mounted thermostat, then will generally use heating oil, kerosene or a blend of heating oil or kerosene. If you have a room type space heater or the fuel runs in from the tank by gravity you will require kerosene.
What size oil tank do I need?
The most common size oil tanks are 275 gallon obround or 500 gallon round. Size will depend on your overall heating requirement.
Do I need to put an additive in my fuel tank to keep it from freezing during the winter?
If you use heating oil and you expect the outside temperature to be below 20 degrees for several days at a time it is a good idea to add a fuel supplement to keep the fuel from gelling. If you use kerosene you will not need to add a supplement to the fuel. If you use heating oil, you can also blend in kerosene fuel to prevent gelling.

How do I get propane service?
Come by our office or call for an account application. Our sales representative will ask general information questions to find out what kind of equipment will be used and needed at your home or business.
Why do we require an account application?
Regardless of whether you pay cash at the time of delivery or the time of sale/installation, we require all propane customers to have an approved account with us to avoid interruption in delivery service.
After I get my gas service started, who will install my gas appliances or heaters?
We have trained and licensed technicians who will come to your home or business and install and hook-up the gas appliances or heaters for you. They will also explain to you how each item works.
Do I need vented or unvented gas appliances?
If you are going to use as a primary heating source your best choice will be a vented heater. If you are going to use the gas appliance as a secondary heating source the most common choice is an unvented heating system.
What propane appliances are availble?
Gas logs, fireplaces, furnaces, cookstoves, water heaters, space heaters, indoor and outdoor lights, and dryers.
Why isn't my tank filled to 100 percent capacity?
Propane is delivered and stored in liquid form and can expand to greater volumes when outdoor temperature rises. Therefore tanks are only filled 80 to 85% to allow for propane to expand freely.
How do I read the gauge on my propane tank?
Most all tanks of a 100 gallons or more have a gauge. If your tank does have a gauge it is located on the top of the tank, usually under a liftable hood. The tank gauge reads in pecentages from 0% to 100% with 80% being full.
